KCSM on track to reopen Nuevo Laredo gateway this weekend; KCSR keeping watchful eye on Tropical Storm Bonnie
In Mexico, maintenance of way crews have been working at the Anahuac Bridge all week. There have been no complications and as previously reported, we expect the bridge and Nuevo Laredo gateway to open sometime this weekend.
In the U.S., KCSR is keeping a watchful eye on the development of Tropical Storm Bonnie, which is moving across the southern tip of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico, and is expected to move onto land again near New Orleans, La., sometime Sunday.
The City of New Orleans Levy Board will close the flood gates around New Orleans at approximately noon on Saturday and will not re-open them until the storm has passed.
At this time, we are uncertain if there will be any disruptions to KCSR service; however, if conditions worsen, KCSR has a plan in place to move all rail car equipment out of the affected area prior to the storm reaching land.
